With an innate affinity to magic, or known in the Feywild as the Art, Rhys started levitating small objects as a toddler, and occasionally when angry he would hurl bolts of blueish gray fire. Anytime emotion got away from him, magic flowed through him. As a small child, Rhys summoned a spirit from the realm of the dead, seriously traumatizing him as the spirit that was summoned was his grandfather.
Rhys rarely spoke about his grandfather's spirit, although it never left him. Faulkrest, Rhys's father, would catch Rhys talking to himself, sometimes in rather heated discussions, with no one around. When asked, Rhys would simply shrug it off.
Unknown to Rhys, his grandfather was a very powerful wizard, he had taught many through out his 180 year practice of the art. Faulkrest cast away magic for an axe and spade after his fathers passing. Tending crops and live stock, he made a simple home for his family in the Feywild.
Rhys refused a life of the Art for many years, fearing the consequences issued upon his grandfather. Eventually, though he allowed himself his gift and set to forging it into strength. He found many of his grandfathers old tomes, readying the words and practicing the arts. He was asked, if not pleaded by his father to stop, to burn those tomes and continue as he had. Knowing his grandfathers fate, Rhys chose to focus on the conjuration of the elements instead of the summoning of creatures. He was a quick study, gaining much insight to the magical world.
Though he soon learned all he could from his small village. Rhys, at age 36 decided to leave his home in the Feywild and see what he'd find amongst the long shanks in the Natural world. Not long after leaving his home came upon a crew of adventurers, drinking in the local pub...
