The intrepid adventurers abandon the relative safety of their study room shelter to once again explore the dissolute remains of the library. Elric, the young Artificer directs the group to a laboratory bustling with activity, even in the early hours of dusk.
Sneaking a peak though the unlocked doors, Lyka observes a small band of goblins lounging about the doors, half-awake and barely aware of their surroundings. A curiously robed figure darts about a few bookshelves and tables, ripping pages from some of the more elaborate tomes and muttering to himself unintelligibly. A sneak attack on the destructive goblins was more than enough to bring their nefarious designs.
A quick search of the area found the group a few steps closer to helping Treona recover her lost tomes and a little more information on where their suspected dragon had possibly taken the slaying stone. They make a quick escape through the now deserted hallways toward the now dishevled shrines and churches. Hopefully something there could guide their eyes to the Stone's resting place.
What they found hiding out in a dessecrated shrine to Corellon and Sehanine was little more than astonishing. A member of the failed Kiris line, Kiris Hoyt by name was huddled beside a great fountain praying for help. The group questioned him and gain information of where the stone may be and confirmation of their suspected dragon, who is believed to be living in a hollow under the hot springs along the eastern edge of the city.
Just as the light of moon came into view though a sky-light, a goblin ambush took the group and their now deathly-looking counterpart by suprise. The goblins fell quickly to the swords and skill of the adventurers but the real threat was Kiris Hoyt, who had changed into a vicious looking rat-man hybrid and threateded to infect them with his disease ridden bite.
A lucky strike and a a little devine guidance from the matron and patron of the moon had the situation in order and sent Kiris Hoyt to the unending sleep of death, free from his Lycanthropic curse. But the group made haste, finally they had a bead on their charge.
The sandy ground around the grotto was definitely moved and it took no time for the elven avenger, Lianthala, to uncover the entrance to the dragon's den.
The Bronze Dragon that was in possession of the stone was happy to relinquish the stone to Lianthala, having seen into her true nature and devotion to the goodly forces of the cosmos. Truely it wanted to be rid of the thing as the stone attracted much too much attention for the dragon to exist in peace within its modest home.
An encounter with the other new comers to the city had the group making quick work of their opponents. Truly not a good day to be on the business end of their spells and swords. The Orcs of the Severed Eye Clan, had been tracking the group's movements and ambushed them outside the grotto soon after the group's departure.
Their ambush failed.
Miserably.
